PIR and PUR polyurethane board can really say the difference should be very little, today we will make a brief introduction to PIR polyurethane board and PUR polyurethane board:
PUR and PIR refer to the chemical composition of rigid polyurethane foam. Both PUR and PIR can be used as core materials and various rigid or flexible materials to form surface materials through various processing methods.
PUR composite sheet refers to the core polyurethane rigid foam generally uses polyether polyol, low isocyanate index and flame retardant formulation system, the skeleton structure of the foam is composed of carbamate segments, the product can only be used below 100 degrees Celsius.

PIR composite sheet refers to the core material of polyurethane rigid foam generally using polyurethane polyol, high isocyanate index (more than 250), no or less use of flame retardants of the formula system, the skeleton structure of the foam is composed of carbamate segment and carbamate modified isocyanurate segment, the product can be used below l50 degrees Celsius Today's industrial system in demand for PIR polyurethane board is increasing. Recently, many customers are looking for PIR polyurethane cold storage board, so what is PIR polyurethane cold storage board? Let's talk to you today. The so-called PIR polyurethane cold storage board is a polyurethane sandwich board with a combustion grade of B1.
When it comes to fire ratings, we have to mention the old standard GB8624-1997. This is the earliest standard for building fireproof materials. The standard describes it as follows:
Class A: non-combustible materials (e.g. rock wool, stone, etc.)
Class B1: Flame retardant materials (e.g. polyurethane, polybenzene)
Class B2: Combustible materials (polyurethane, polybenzene)
Class B3: Flammable materials (extruded polyphenylene, polyurethane, etc.)
There are polyurethanes in B1, B2, B3 grade materials, back to the topic, polyurethane cold storage board, as the best thermal insulation material today, has been widely used in the cold storage construction in our production and life. Polyurethane materials are organic materials, and only inorganic materials can reach Class A non-combustible, which we have mentioned in previous exchanges. Therefore, the highest combustion level of polyurethane materials can reach B1 grade.
What we usually call PIR polyurethane cold storage board is not a large number of flame retardants added to polyurethane raw materials, but uses a special formulation system, which is different from the traditional PUR system.
