C-shaped steel purlin: Although it also has certain compressive strength and transverse bending strength, its strength may be slightly lower than that of Z-shaped steel purlin. The cross-sectional shape of C-shaped steel purlins is the letter C, with gently sloping edges on both sides, and the shape is relatively simple.
Longitudinal stiffness
Z-shaped steel purlin: With high longitudinal stiffness, Z-shaped steel purlins can maintain good stability when spanning large spans. Therefore, Z-shaped steel purlins are more suitable for structures such as large-span buildings and bridges.
C-shaped steel purlin: With relatively low longitudinal stiffness, it is suitable for structures with small spans. This to some extent limits the application of C-shaped steel purlins in certain large-span structures.

Application scenarios
Z-shaped steel purlins: Due to their high strength and significant longitudinal stiffness, Z-shaped steel purlins are commonly used in the production of piano side panels, building structures, bridge supports, and other structures that require bearing large loads and spans.
C-shaped steel purlins: Due to their lightweight, high strength, good rigidity, and ease of processing and installation, C-shaped steel purlins are commonly used in lightweight structures such as building frames, wall supports, steel structure stairs, and garage racks.
