Metal-faced PU sandwich panels are a composite building material composed of two metal sheets bonded together with a polyurethane core. They belong to the industrial building material category. The core material is made from a polymer of organic diisocyanates and polyols, offering lightweight and thermal insulation properties. They are primarily used in building roofs, walls, and partition structures.

Metal-faced polyurethane sandwich panels feature surface materials such as galvanized steel and hot-dip galvanized color-coated steel, while the core material can be polyurethane (PUR) or rock wool. Common thicknesses range from 50-150mm, with a thermal conductivity of ≤0.027W/(m·K). Structural innovations include reinforcement layers, flame-retardant layers, and waterproofing layers, enhancing fire resistance (B1 grade) and weather resistance. Some models feature plug-in or snap-on connections for quick assembly and increased load-bearing capacity. Improved versions incorporate built-in rib systems, honeycomb frames, or dividers to optimize compressive strength and core fill uniformity. Special application versions also incorporate wooden connectors or insulation fillers to improve cold storage sealing and impact resistance.

1) By surface material: Galvanized steel sandwich panels, hot-dip galvanized color-coated steel sandwich panels, electrogalvanized color-coated steel sandwich panels, and aluminum-zinc color-coated steel sandwich panels.
2) By core material:
Metal foam plastic sandwich panels: such as metal-faced rigid polyurethane sandwich panels (PUR) and metal-faced polystyrene sandwich panels (EPS).
Metal inorganic fiber sandwich panels: such as metal-faced new rock wool sandwich panels and metal-faced new glass wool sandwich panels.
3) By building location: Roof panels, wall panels, partition panels, and ceiling panels.
Adhesion Performance: The bond strength of metal-faced rigid polyurethane sandwich panels should be ≥0.09 MPa; the bond strength of metal-faced rock wool and slag wool sandwich panels should be >0.06 MPa. During the peel performance test, the core material bonded to the face material should be evenly distributed, and the bonded area of ​​each peel should be no less than 85%.

Flexural Capacity
When the deflection of a rigid polyurethane sandwich panel is L0/200 (L0 is the distance between supports), the flexural capacity of the sandwich panel should be no less than 0.5 kN/m. When the deflection of a metal-faced rock wool, slag wool, or polystyrene sandwich panel is L0/250 (L0 is the distance between supports), the flexural capacity of the sandwich panel should be no less than 0.5 kN/m.
Bulk Density
The bulk density of rigid polyurethane foam should be ≥ 30 kg/m³;
The bulk density of rock wool tape should be ≥ 100 kg/m³;

Core Material Thermal Conductivity
Not exceeding 0.041 W/(m·K) for polystyrene foam panels, 0.027 W/(m·K) for rigid polyurethane foam, and 0.045 W/(m·K) for rock wool panels. Fire Resistance and Combustion Performance
The standard stipulates the following for sandwich panels made of rock wool and slag wool:
For sandwich panels 80mm thick or thicker, the fire resistance limit is 60 minutes or longer;
For sandwich panels <80mm thick, the fire resistance limit is 30 minutes or longer.
The standard stipulates that rigid polyurethane sandwich panels must meet Class B1 combustion performance requirements; and for core material bulk density 30kg/m3 or higher, Class B2 combustion performance requirements.
