Glass wool belongs to a category of glass fiber, which is a kind of artificial inorganic fiber. Glass wool is a kind of material that can fiber the molten glass into cotton like material. Its chemical composition belongs to glass and it is an inorganic fiber. It has good molding, small bulk density, thermal conductivity, thermal insulation, sound absorption, corrosion resistance and stable chemical performance.
In the use of centrifugal glass wool in buildings, the surface often needs to be attached with a certain sound transmitting finish, such as plastic film less than 0.5mm, metal mesh, window screen, fireproof cloth, glass fiber cloth, etc., which can basically maintain the original sound absorption characteristics. Aluminum foil glass wool
Centrifugal glass wool is one of the most commonly used materials for building sound absorption because of its excellent characteristics of fire prevention, heat preservation and easy cutting. However, because the surface of centrifugal glass wool is non decorative and there will be fiber spilling, it must be made into various acoustic components for concealed use. The most commonly used and cheapest structure is the suspended ceiling of perforated gypsum plaster board or the perforated wall made of centrifugal glass wool. When the perforation rate is more than 20%, the sound absorption performance of centrifugal glass wool can be basically exerted. In order to prevent the glass wool fiber from spilling out, it is necessary to attach a layer of non-woven fabric, mulberry paper and other sound permeable fabrics behind the perforated plate, or wrap the glass wool with glass cloth, plastic film, etc. The panel similar to perforated gypsum plaster board also has perforated metal plate (such as aluminum plate), perforated wood board, perforated fiber cement board, perforated mineral wool board, etc. After treatment, glass wool board can be made into acoustic ceiling board or acoustic wallboard. Generally, 80-120kg/m3 glass wool board is wrapped with fireproof and sound permeable fabric after being cured with glue to form a beautiful and easy to install sound absorption wall board, with a common size of 1.2m × 1.2m、1.2m × 0.6m、0.6m × 0.6m, 2.5cm or 5cm thick. There are also acoustic ceiling panels formed by directly spraying sound permeable decorative materials on the surface of 110Kg/m3 glass wool. Whether glass wool sound-absorbing wallboard or acoustic ceiling board, glass wool with high capacity and weight shall be used and strengthened to prevent the board from deformation or being too soft. This kind of building materials not only have good decorative properties, but also retain the good sound absorption characteristics of centrifugal glass wool. The noise reduction coefficient NRC can generally reach more than 0.85. In large spaces such as gymnasiums and workshops, in order to absorb and reduce noise, sound absorbers with centrifugal glass wool as the main sound absorbing material are often used. The sound absorber can be made into plate, column, cone or other special-shaped bodies according to requirements. The interior of the sound absorber is filled with centrifugal glass wool, and the surface is wrapped with sound transmission surface layer. Since the sound absorber has multiple surfaces, the sound absorption efficiency is very high. In the road sound barrier, in order to prevent noise reflection, it is necessary to take sound absorption measures at the side facing the vehicle. Centrifugal glass wool is often used as the filler and the surface layer is perforated metal plate. In order to prevent the glass wool from absorbing water and getting damp outdoors, it is sometimes wrapped with PVC or plastic film.
